Terms of Use
Last updated: November 7, 2026
These terms apply to your use of the E-commerce Market Central website, including Garage Sale Central (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.
1. What the Service is
Garage Sale Central helps people find garage, yard, estate, neighborhood and moving sales, and plan a route between them. Sales are posted by the people holding them. We do not own, inspect, sell or guarantee any item, and we are not part of any sale. Any purchase is between you and the seller.
2. Google Maps
The Service includes Google Maps features and content, such as drive times, address lookup and links that open Google Maps. Your use of Google Maps features and content is subject to the current versions of the Google Maps End User Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
3. Routes and drive times are estimates
Routes, drive times, distances and sale hours are estimates and may be wrong or out of date. Always follow traffic laws, road signs and conditions. Do not use the Service in a way that distracts you while driving. Sellers can change or cancel a sale at any time, so check before you go.
4. Posting a sale
When posting is available, you must be at least 18 to post. If you post a sale, you agree that:
- the sale is real, and you are allowed to hold it at that address;
- the address, dates, times and description are accurate, and you will end or update the listing if plans change;
- you will follow your city's rules for garage and yard sales, including any permit, sign or frequency limits;
- you will not list anything illegal, stolen, recalled, hazardous, or restricted by law (such as firearms, ammunition, explosives, drugs, prescription medicine or alcohol);
- your photos and text belong to you or you have permission to use them, and they don't show other people's private information without their consent;
- your listing is for a real sale, not advertising, spam or a way to collect people's information.
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, display and format it on the Service so people can find your sale. That permission ends when you delete it, except for copies kept briefly in backups.
5. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- harass, threaten or deceive anyone, or misuse someone's address;
- scrape or copy the Service or its listings by automated means, or overload it with requests;
- try to get around our security, request limits or account protections;
- use the Service to break any law.
6. Safety
We do not screen sellers or buyers. Use common sense: shop during posted hours, bring a friend for large purchases, inspect items before you pay, and respect sellers' homes and neighbors. Report a listing that looks wrong or unsafe, and contact local authorities in an emergency.
7. Removing content and accounts
We may remove listings or suspend accounts that break these terms, get credible reports, or put people at risk. We may also change, pause or stop parts of the Service. You can stop using the Service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by email.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We are not responsible for listings, items, sellers, buyers, or what happens at a sale.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, E-commerce Market Central will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or any sale. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
10. Your responsibility
If you post content or use the Service in a way that breaks these terms or the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, including legal fees, of claims against us that result.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, unless the law requires otherwise.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date above, and for significant changes we will post a notice on the site. If you keep using the Service after an update, you accept the new terms.
